When selecting a solenoid valve for an Ingersoll Rand IR air compressor, there are a few key criteria to consider. Firstly, you must choose a valve based on the pipeline’s parameters, such as the diameter specification (DN) and interface method.

1. To determine the appropriate pipe diameter (DN), you should either refer to the internal diameter of the pipeline or consult the flow requirements of your specific site.
2. Regarding the interface method, valves with a diameter greater than DN50 typically opt for a flange interface, while those with a diameter of ≤ DN50 offer flexibility in selection based on the user’s preferences.

The operation of these solenoid valves is governed by the energization or de-energization of the coil. This magnetic actuation allows the fluid to flow through the valve body or be intercepted, effectively altering the fluid’s direction. The electromagnetic components of an Ingersoll Rand solenoid valve comprise a fixed iron core, a moving iron core, coils, and other integral parts. Meanwhile, the valve body is a composite structure comprising a valve core, valve core sleeve, spring seat, and so on. The electromagnetic coil is directly mounted onto the valve body, which is then enclosed in a sealed pipe, creating a streamlined and compact unit. The solenoid valve comprises several components: a valve body, valve cover, electromagnetic components, springs, and a sealing structure. When unpowered, a sealing block at the bottom of the movable iron core seals the valve body’s air inlet due to spring pressure. Once powered on, the electromagnet attracts the movable iron core, causing a spring-loaded sealing block on the upper portion to close the exhaust port. This allows airflow to enter the membrane head through the intake port, exercising control.

In the event of power loss, the electromagnetic force ceases, and the spring force pushes the moving iron core away from the fixed iron core. This movement opens the exhaust port, blocks the air inlet, and directs airflow from the membrane head through the exhaust port, returning the diaphragm to its original position.
